Pricing for special order items:
Ordering meat online isn't like ordering books or clothes, or even most other food. Because our business originates in live animals raised on a relatively small scale, there can be some variability in weight - and thus in price - for all of our cuts. Think of this online catalog just as you would a butcher counter. Rather than give an exact price for each item, we typically sell by the pound - leaving the final price to be calculated once the cut has been weighed.
On this site, you'll see two types of prices: some items are sold by the piece (e.g. 1/2 beef brisket, 4 lbs.) while other items are sold by the pound (e.g. beef brisket, per pound). If you mouse over the yellow question mark next to the price, you'll see a quick explanation of how we have arrived the estimated price for each cut of meat in our catalog.
Charging Your Credit Card:
We charge by-the-pound for all our cuts of meat, and we only charge you for what your receive - but we won't necessarily know the exact weight of your specific cut until the day you pick it up or we pack it. Therefore our online system holds an "authorization" on your credit card at the time you place your order, similar to when you check in to a hotel. This authorization amount is calculated from the price per pound multiplied by the highest possible weight for that item. Once we've cut your meat for you, we enter the final weight for your item(s) and our system automatically finalizes charges on your credit card for the actual amount - which will never exceed the original authorized amount.
There are no returns unless there is a problem with the product that can be shown to have existed when delivered. You are responsible for being home and bringing your meat when delivered.
Do we disclose any information to outside partners?
Your information is emailed directly to True Pasture Beef and/or the company we use to authorize your payment. No other parties are given your information at any time. We do not trade or sell your information to other parties.
